By the Way

"Standing in line to see the show tonight,
And there's a light on,
Heavy glow.
By the way I tried to say I'd be there,
Waiting for."

Thanks

Thanks to all those wonderful souls who inspire us to keep going,
who inspire us to get out there amongst it,
who inspire us to face our fears,
who inspire us to get out of comfort zone - even if it's only to donate a wave or a smile to a stranger,
who inspire us to go within.
Thanks

"Who looks outside, dreams.
Who looks inside, awakens"

Monochrome Monday (sorry)

Sorry to my friends, regular lurkers and accidental visitors for no updates .
It's been a strained and busy time in my part of the briney-verse.
Here's to summer fun, real friends, family bonds and the aloha spirit.

Back

After travelling to the other side
of the planet
by myself, I'm back home.
Great to be with family and friends like Rebecca
seen above and below on her Vouch log
at least one eclipse ago.

Look Closely

Look closely. This has not been photoshopped. There are three chaps on motorbikes doing dangerous stunts. Why do we do this stuff?

Uncrowded

I checked this spot out one morning and couldn't believe there were only two surfers out.
Trying to decide whether to join them or shoot them, I opted for the latter when I saw some of their moves, against the early morning light.

Monochrome Monday (marbles)

When surfers don't surf. we lose our marbles. Go crazy. Get antsy. Take up self-destructive habits like betting on dogs running around a circular track. We have to escape the grind. And so a few of us set out at dawn yesterday, undertaking our own version of The Search - attempting to find waves.

Well what we found wasn't like this.

And, I didn't even ride any of my boards.
We didn't see any barrels, but we met a new friend, rode a different board, surfed a different spot, caught a few fun ones and had a few laughs over brunch and definitely put a marble or two back in the mental marble jar to tip the balance in the direction of Yew!

Aloha Steve and Danno

Today's post is dedicated to my brine brother and cheeky, larrikin goofy footed work colleague Steve Logan who is taking the big handshake from "The Man With Golden Helmet". Thanks for all the crazy laughs, buddy. Here's your exit tune - Aloha Danno and Steve by Aussie rock punkers - Radio Birdman. Sing along to the lyrics below.

"McGarrett's on the line to Danno
We gotta pick up this guy
Put out an APB
Not much time to tell you why

Governor says it's top priority
Washington says so too
Tell Chin to get here fast
5-0 is on the move

"Steve I want to say thank you
For all you've done for me
My night is dark and empty
When you're not on TV

There's an agent in the field
I want to have him tailed
He's been staying at the Hilton
Yeah should be staying in the gaol

He's working for the KGB
And here's his dossier
Those Reds won't be happy
Till this guy gets his way

Dark spectre of espionage
Hangs over fair Hawaii
McGarrett's one cool guy
The guilty will not go free

Steve and Danno they made the scene
The agent had done his deed
Caught with a stiff and a silenced gun
Said Book him Danno Murder One"

Broken Boards = Fun

Todays text and pics courtesy of Enjoy Handplanes, a crew who are thinking global. Well done.

"Enjoy Handplanes were created by Ed Lewis and Kipp Denslow as a way to save broken surfboards, old wetsuits and production waste from going to the landfills. Their mission is to keep broken boards and manufacturing waste from the landfills while creating products that are fun to use and environmentally responsible. "
"All Enjoy Handplanes are made with either old foam from broken boards or ruined blanks from manufacturing for the board and neoprene from used wetsuits to make the handles. We use materials that do not currently have a means of recycling and would end up in the landfill. Each handplane is shaped and custom glassed with Entropy Bio Epoxy, providing a second chance to a once loved board or wrecked blank doomed to the land fill."
I just had to add the pic above of Zen-yoga-matt-rider-blogger-runner 23 Breaths.
