Close Shave

This was way too close and why I wear a #Gath helmet when shooting close out in the water.
The 20mm Nikkor wide angle on a Nikon FE film camera makes it look further away and flatter then it really was.
I recall one of the surfers (maybe not this one) for abusing me for being in the way.
And it wasn't even crowded.
Backstory: this camera and three Nikkor lenses were funded  by an insurance claim when all my fancy threads were stolen off my girl friend's Dad's clothes line!

Fleas

I love the way you can see the front and the back at the same time.

It's like we are fleas riding the elephant's back.

28mm manual focus Hanimex lens on a Fuji ST801 - myfirst camera with TTL exposure - in a Ewa Marine plastic bag.

After that came the Nikonos and then this century the SPL housing.

Never thought I'd be sharing like this decades later.

Zen again

Yesterday, I neglected my morning meditation to shoot these monarch butterflies that had crashed for the night in my yard.

I knew they would resume their migration as soon as the dew had evaporated from their wings.

Today they are gone.

Thanks for visiting.

for 20 minutes a day,

unless you're too busy...

then you should sit for an hour"
